For Those About To Die...
...we salute you...even if you died long ago. What the fuck am I talking about? Gladiator remains found in England:
London, England (CNN) -- Heads hacked off, a bite from a lion, tiger or bear, massive muscles on massive men -- all clues that an ancient cemetery uncovered in northern England is the final resting place of gladiators, scientists have announced after seven years of investigations. As a scholar, historian, genius, I find this development absolutely fascinating. Look forward to reading more about these findings.
The archeological dig has found "what may be the world's only well-preserved Roman gladiator cemetery," the York Archaeological Trust said.
Scientists have found 80 skeletons in the "unique" cemetery under the city of York, northern England, since 2003.

There is a God
John Terry may be out of the World Cup after suffering a broken foot:
I'll have more World Cup coverage since most teams released their preliminary squads yesterday.
UPDATE: Terry does not have a broken foot and will try to play this weekend.
John Terry has been taken to hospital after suffering a bad blow to his right foot that could rule the defender out of England's squad for the World Cup.Terry is easily one of my least favorite players in the world. He is a key player in England's defense and with questions already with Rio Ferdinand's health could make for trouble for Fabio Capello's side. Let's also remember who they play in the first game.
Fabio Capello already has injury doubts over a number of players, including Gareth Barry, and Terry can now add himself to the list after a possible metatarsal injury that he suffered in a Chelsea training session at Cobham.

Aaron Lennon
Since I'm up and footy is being played, naturally I'm watching football. Even if it's Tottenham, I'm watching. The game is not even 20 minutes in, and I have to admit that Aaron Lennon is one of the best players in England right now. There are certainly players playing better football in England right now like Fàbregas, Drogba, Tevez, and Rooney. However, Lennon should be considered among these players.
His role in creating for Modric's goal was pivotal. I think the problem with Tottenham is that they don't have any other threats. I'm watching Modric, who is supposed to be their creative force and I see even him looking for Lennon. It seems like defenses will be able to key in on Lennon, preventing him from getting the ball and trying to contain him. I say "trying" because with his pace and skill, that he can create space and attacking opportunities out of nothing. He is turning into something special.
He is definitely securing a position in South Africa with his performances.
